OTHER FUNCTIONS OF THE BURSAR
The other functions of the Bursar include the following:

- The Bursar shall be responsible to the Vice Chancellor for the safe custody and proper disposition of all University funds and assets.
- The Bursar shall maintain proper and adequate records of Income and expenditure, assets and liabilities and report periodically to the Vice Chancellor on the finances of the University. The Bursar shall not honour verbal directives for release or disposition of the university’s Assets.
- The Bursar, as the Chief Financial Officer of the University is responsible to the Vice Chancellor, and shall exercise professional superintendence over all the accounting staff of the University. He shall be responsible for ensuring that the accounts of the University are prepared in accordance with the University Law, statute and professional standards.
While it is necessary to avoid bureaucratic processing, it is mandatory to operate within certain rules and norms to save individuals, the University, and the State from mental rigour often occasioned by fraud, abuse and malpractices. Events continue to support the need for laid-down procedures even if only for the purposes of orderliness, efficiency, and reliability of stewardship.
The Department is currently headed by a Bursar in the person of Mr. A.O. Fashakin who is currently on terminal leave. For this reason, Mr. O.T. Akinterinwa was appointed to head the department in an acting capacity. He holds B.Sc in Accountancy, PGD in Computer Science, MBA and FCA. His e-mail Address is: email@example.com.
