AAUA Management Visits, Felicitates with New Akungba King

The Management of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Ondo State, has felicitated with the newly-enthroned king of the Institution’s host community, the Alale of Akungba Akoko, Oba Isaac Adeyeye Ajimo III, for ascending the throne of his fore fathers.

The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Igbekele Ajibefun, led the Management team on a courtesy visit to the king’s palace on Thursday last week, to congratulate the King and the people of Akungba.

Prof. Ajibefun said, “We are happy to be here to congratulate you and the entire people of Akungba Akoko on this long-overdue development. We thank God for this great development.”
The VC prayed that the reign of the new King would bring fortune on the University and the host community.

Oba Ajimo, in his response, thanked the Principal Officers of the University for the visit.

The Alale, who said he was happy to receive the Management team, noted he was aware of the cordial relationship between the University and Akungba community.

He affirmed that his emergence as King would strengthen the existing cordial relationship between Akungba and the University.

Other Principal Officers on the entourage were the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration), Prof. Olugbenga Ige; the Registrar, Mr. Sunday Ayeerun; and the Bursar, Mrs. Olubunmi Ologun.

AAUA Staff Becomes ICAN Associate


Mr. Dare Ibironke of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Ondo State, has been inducted into the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, ICAN, as an Associate.

He was admitted to the prestigious professional body during the Institute’s Induction ceremony
held in the ICAN Centre, Amuwo Odofin, Lagos.

A membership certificate signed by the President and the Registrar of the Institute, Mr. Titus Soetan and Mr. Rotimi Omotoso, respectively, said Mr. Ibironke ‘has been admitted an Associate of the Institute, given under the common seal of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria.

Ibironke joined the services of AAUA in October 17, 2011, as an Accountant II and he is presently an Accountant I (Finance and Reconciliation) in the Bursary Department.



Ondo State First Lady, Arabinrin Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, is expected at Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, this week as Special Guest of Honour at the 22nd Annual National Conference of the Nigerian Association of Health Educators holding in the University.

According to the AAUA chapter of the body, the conference will start on Wednesday June 7th and end on Saturday, June 10th.

The theme of the conference is ‘Health Education in the Healthcare Delivery System’.
All events are slated to hold at the Olusegun Obasanjo Multipurpose Hall. Prof. O. A. Moronkola of the Department of Human Kinetics and Health Education, University of Ibadan is billed to deliver the lead paper.
