AAUA, Passionate About Development Issues- VC
The Vice Chancellor, Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Ondo State, Nigeria, Professor Igbekele Ajibefun, last week, said own University is always passionate about development issues.
VC, who was represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olugbenga Ige, said this, last week, when he played host to the participants of Course 11, Institute of Security Studies, Bwari, Abuja, who visited AAUA’s Centre for Entrepreneurship Studies as part of their study tour of Ondo State.
Prof. Ajibefun said, “As a University, AAUA is relatively young, but it’s always passionate about development issues, especially those that borders on security and human capacity development.”
Vice Chancellor, who commended the team for believing the Ajasin University as a worthy institution for a purpose like this, said the theme of the study: Cultural Values and Contemporary Governance: challenges of Ethnic nationalism and youth disillusionment, is a timely one as it interrogates contemporary security challenges.
He said, “We appreciate the fact that our University is deemed fit for an intellectual transaction of this nature. Since no single agency can claim to have all the answers to the security challenges, effective security requires collaborative efforts among the nation’s security agencies will help in reducing Nigeria’s perennial security problem.”
The Vice Chancellor said AAUA is always ready to partner with institutions or agencies on providing answers to security issues. ” Institutions are set up provide answers to critical national issues. There cannot be a time more apposite than now that the country is facing dire security challenges to look critically at more effective ways of handling security challenges. For us at Adekunle Ajasin University, we are always ready and willing to make contributions that will help the country to excel. We are always ready to partner with willing government and institutions to remedy these challenges.” The VC said.
In his reaction, leader of the visiting team, Professor Dauda Sale, commended the government and people of the state for being hospitable and University management for aiding their study efforts, especially for exposing participants to its Centre for Entrepreneurship studies during the study tour.
