Centre for Diploma & Pre-Degree Studies

Admission Procedure & Processes

The Pre-degree Programme is designed first and foremost to feed specific degree programmes that would otherwise be perennially undersubscribed in the University. Most such programmes are in the Sciences, with isolated representatives in Arts, Education, and the Social and Management Sciences. Another reason for commencing the programme is to further improve access to University education for college-age citizens of Ondo State, thereby reducing idleness and the attendant social ills among them.

Applications are usually invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into any one of the following pre-degree programmes in the University: Science, Science Education, Arts, Arts Education, Social Sciences, (Geography and Planning Sciences & Pure and Applied Psychology).
JAMB and NUC every year jointly set admission quotas for all Nigerian universities, and JAMB, which is by law charged with authority to admit undergraduates into Nigerian universities, will not approve the admission of any pre-degree candidate who did not achieve a (for now) minimum score of 200 at the UTME (conducted by JAMB)
