As the Acting Head of the Sociology Department, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to

excellence. We aim to equip our students with the skills and knowledge necessary to analyse

and understand the social world with depth and conviction through our comprehensive

programmes and initiatives.

We place a premium on a collaborative and open approach to learning, research, and

development. Our approach to Sociology at Adekunle Ajasin University starts with ensuring you

are intellectually stimulated and engaged with the subject matter. We do this firstly through our

academic staff, all of whom are research-active and highly enthusiastic about what they teach.

Through linking theory with the real world, you are encouraged to apply your sociological

securitisation and mass media, or those every day, taken-for-granted features of life which seem

less important, such as consumption, taste and the performance of our identities.
