Industrial Training Unit

WELCOME MESSAGE

You are welcome to the Students’ Industrial Work Experience Scheme (itu) Unit of Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State, Nigeria. This unit coordinates the students’ skills training programme of the Institution, a programme which forms part of the approved Minimum Academic Standards set for degree programmes in all Nigerian Universities.

The Unit serves as a link between this Institution and the Industrial Training Fund (ITF), which jointly coordinates the training programme with the National Universities Commission (NUC), with funding for it coming from the Federal Government of Nigeria.

The Unit has the broad mandate of putting in place the necessary   logistics for our students to participate in Industrial work experience in fields related to their studies, so as to bridge the gap existing between theory and practice in science, management, and other professional educational programmes and also for them to be exposed to machines and equipment, professional work methods and ways of safe-guarding work areas and workers in industries.

This institution attaches great importance to itu not only because of what it means for the individual careers of its students, but also because of its critical role in the development of indigenous technological manpower in the country.

Acting Director, itu, AAUA.
