The University Advancement Office

From the Director’s Desk

Within the short time of its existence, Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), has creditably delivered on its mandate and has been most active in building leaders for today as well as tomorrow, in several spheres of human existence. Our Proprietor, the Ondo State Government, has done impressively well in providing seed funding for several projects as well as for the smooth operations of the University and the University has benefited immensely from the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund).

In the last few years however, AAUA, like other establishments has faced a lot of challenges resulting from dwindling subventions occasioned by the limited funds available to the Proprietor. The onus therefore lies on the University to explore alternative avenues to support the gracious efforts of the Ondo State Government in promoting and sustaining its Education and Community Development agenda.

The University Advancement Office (UAO) under the direct supervision of the Vice Chancellor was established to develop, promote and sustain the good name of the University and also to attract goodwill to the University by exploring every available avenue for garnering resources to meet up with its tripod of challenges viz.: Teaching, Research and Community Development.

The thrust of the initiative of the University Advancement Office is therefore to raise funds for developmental projects, separate from proprietorial subvention or student fees and charges for the advancement of the institution’s goals and objectives.

The University Advancement Office therefore intends to source for funds from Corporate Bodies, Philanthropists, Public Spirited Individuals and Alumni by way of Pledges, Endowments, Major Gifts, Planned Gifts, Bequests, Stocks, Shares and Sundry Investments to make the Institution financially strong and promote its Sustainable Development.

We are mindful of the realities of the current economic climate but we are nonetheless persuaded that the milk of human kindness in our land has the capacity to overwhelm any temporary economic challenges that we all face daily, and will therefore not in any way stymie individual and collective aspirations to bequeath a legacy for future generations.

It is with this mindset that we invite all and sundry to join us to build a lasting partnership that will ensure AAUA delivers its mandate to posterity.

Our desire is that you will join us in this journey to advance the cause of humanity.

Thank you.
