The University Advancement Office

Welcome Address of Professor Bolanle Ogungbamila

I welcome you with profound enthusiasm to the University Advancement Office (UAO) of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State, Nigeria. The UAO has the golden mandate to develop, promote, and attract goodwill to the University by deeply and expansively promoting and carefully sustaining the good name of the University.

Our mandate recognizes the fact that the University and her visitor cannot meet the vast and expanded responsibilities attached to effective teaching, groundbreaking research, and functional innovations as well as responsible and responsive community development efforts without the deliberate and sustainable supports and interventions of benevolent individuals and organizations. Such interventions will vigorously complement the financial, structural, operational, and infrastructural inputs of the government and the University. Consequently, the University, through the UAO, is open and willing to initiate, harness, and deepen collaborations and partnerships with MDAs, industries, and individuals as well as NGOs in the areas of research, training, and other forms of mutual and rewarding engagements.

Our strategies

We urgently and earnestly look forward to opening, strengthening, and expanding sustainable relationships and points of collaborations that would be mutually gratifying to our dear University and such organizations (public and private), NGOs, and individuals, which will capture and go beyond the current geographical and psychological links. Specifically, my team and I will focus more on, take extra cognizance of, and leverage the vibrant and dependable platforms of our alumni to penetrate additional individuals and organizations to deliver on our golden mandate.

Consequently, my team and I will:

1. generate, constantly update, and deepen the alumni data base;

2. devote quality time, energy, and resources to locate, connect robustly with, and celebrate glowingly every dynamic alumnus of AAUA in all sectors (e.g., education, oil and gas, science, law, entrepreneurship, tech, health, fashion and entertainment, mining, administration, tourism and hospitality, Fintech, sports, security and safety, and real estate as well as business and investment) the world over;

3. initiate and build enduring relationships with our alumni, who are our dependable partners, by creating a stronger interpersonal and inter-organizational bond more than ever before;

4. emplace vibrant platforms for career advancement and alumni nurturing (e.g., alumni mentorship, alumni guardianship, and alumni role modeling); and

5. re-engineer the public perception of the University through alumni activities and engagements (e.g., alumni ambassadorship, recognition, and awards).
