Director’s Welcome Address


WELCOME TO THE WOMEN STUDIES AND DEVELOPMENT CENTRE OF AAUA

Women Studies and Development Centre (WSDC) was established and took off on the 19th October 2010 in Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko under the leadership of the former Vice-Chancellor, Prof. N. O. Mimiko.


The Adekunle Ajasin University Women Studies and Development Centre (WSDC) is a women empowerment arm of the University that is focused on engendering a progressive development strategy with a bid to building and strengthening women’s capacity quotient in all spheres of life.


The Centre, through a unique package of viable and interesting programmes such as Media Dialogues, Training and Methodology Workshops, Intergenerational and Interactive Sessions, Seminars, Symposia, Conferences, Public Lectures, etc, seeks to promote the general welfare of women and the girl-child, while ensuring their significant and resourceful value as full participants in all facets of academic and social development strata.

Vision

To identify the constraints of women and girl-child with a view to addressing them through high standard of training, consultancy services and research in order to develop a dignifying and equitable society in which the values and aspiration of women and girl-child can be fully realized.
