Dean's Welcome Message

WELCOME ADDRESS BY THE DEAN

You are welcome to the official website of the Faculty of Agriculture, Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Ondo State, Nigeria.

The Faculty of Agriculture is envisioned to produce agricultural graduates who possess sound theoretical understanding of the science of agriculture and are skilled in the art and business of farming, with a view to providing the needed manpower base for agricultural revolution in a post oil boom Nigeria, and the world.

The Faculty has a mission to produce well-trained and adequately skilled agricultural manpower needed for the transformation of the agricultural sector of Ondo State, Nigeria and the world.

The AAUA Faculty of Agriculture is currently structured into six academic departments with three different academic programmes namely:

Bachelor of Agriculture Programme

i. Department of Agricultural Economics – B. Agric (Agric Economics)

ii. Department of Agricultural Extension and Rural Development – B. Agric (Agric Extension & Rural Development)

iii. Department of Animal Science- B. Agric (Animal Science)

iv. Department of Agronomy- B. Agric (Agronomy)


Bachelor of Fisheries Programme

i. Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture – B. Fisheries and Aquaculture


Bachelor of Forestry Programme

i. Department of Forestry and Wild Life Management – B. Forestry and Wild Life Management.


The core objectives of the Faculty are :

a) To produce graduates geared towards self-employment

b) To produce graduates with sufficient technical, productive and entrepreneurship skills, who will be involved in production, research and entrepreneurship in any aspect of agriculture and other related disciplines.

c) To produce graduates that are relevant to themselves, the and society and who can contribute effectively to national development goals in Agriculture.


To actualize the above objectives and to make agriculture as a career  more attractive, the Faculty intends to deviate out rightly from the traditional/orthodox agricultural practices to mechanized form of agriculture.
